I ran an easy with Hyrum for 2 miles at lunch.  This was his fastest time yet of 18:51.  He was very pleased with himself!

At the track, I ran with the triclub for a little speed work.

Speedwork with the triclub

1 mile warm-up
4X100 with a 300 meter recovery (about 20 sec each)
2X200 with a 200 meter recovery (38 and 39 sec)

Ah, this time of year in St George has got to be perfect for being outside. I am jealous!!!

You seem to be doing great, Hyrum is kicking butt, and you are doing p90x---hardcore stuff!!!

Are you running the same half that your wife is?

The days and evenings in st george are perfect right now. This should last for another 3 months before we fry!!!

I opted out of running Dallas with cathy due to the long drive and the rock-n-roll races are so darn pricy!!! I have plenty of races coming up to keep me busy. Oceanside Ironman 70.3 is in 3 weeks. I am totally ready and excited!!! Cathy and I will be running the Odgen Marathon this May. Are you running Odgen?

I noticed your weekly miles are up there. I always think I can keep up with you but anything over 50 miles a week is enough for me. I do a lot of swimming, biking, and other workouts that probably reduce my running mileage. BUT... I am having fun!!!!

I am not running Ogden, I wanted to do the half but I procrastinated way too long! However, my husband is going to pace our neighbor for the last half of the full marathon, so I will be there cheering everybody in. I may let some of my kids do the kid race if they want!

I have a new running strategy---high miles and slow speed! it is working for me so far. In the past I crashed and burned at about 60 or more, but I can do this as long as I keep most of it easy. Our running group is ramping up the workouts, but I am just lagging behind putting in the miles!!!

Best of luck with the ironman!
